Today in chruch Warner was holding my hand and I noticed how his are sort of cut up. It tugged at my heart because I know how hard his hands work for me. He has been working in the yard painting the pool, repairing fences and redoing the sprinkler sytem because he knows how I love to enjoy my backyard. Addtionally, his hands have cuts on them because he has been working with sharp tools to produce RoboTrainer so that we can have better financial future. I have always loved his hands because they are so capable of doing almost, strike that, they are capable of doing anything I request. Yet, his hands can be gentle when he holds our cat. Yup! I love that man's hands!

Blair Fashion Center

Edward Albert Blair...

Recently Heather asked me for some pictures of grandpa Blair's fashion center. I thought I would post some of the pictures I found. This one is him on Molly. He saved Molly fron the slaughter house. He worked with her for 5 years and turned her into an open jumper. She was named the most famous horse at the Devon Horse Show, the most famous horse show in the world!

He owned a fashion center called, Blair Fashion Center. He had bought a large estate in the wealthy area of Wynewood, PA and turned it into the "Blair Fashion Center. He was ahead of his time because it really was a mall of sorts. He rented out the rooms to other businessess. In the front part he had a dress salon. Frances would go into New York and purchase these elegant dresses (what fun she must of had).

You can get an idea of how large this was by the amount of hair stylist he employed. He is on the front right.

This is a booth he had at the fasion convention. I am not sure how long he had this fashion center. Due to a nervous breakdown he was forced to sell it. The family then moved to Paoli, PA
where he opened a smaller salon.

I am so excited! Warner and I will be in Utah this Thanksgiving. We will be with Aaron, Nickell, Kade, Tadd, Brandon & Serena. It has been a long time since I have spent Thanksgiving with them. Also, since we are there we can celebrate Serena's birthday, a few days early. We haven't been with her on her birthday for about 3 years. Warner plans on taking RoboTrainer so the boys can make a new video of him. He is almost ready for the trip! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!

We celebrated my birthday today instead of tomorrow. Warner and I drove out to watch Colton play soccor. We had a fun time doing that. Then we drove to a quaint town called Southlake to have lunch at Cheesecake Factory and walk around the cozy shopping area. Then we drove home. As I was working on my computer He brought me a card and gift. I was totally surprised. He gave me a beautiful card and the loveliest necklace. As you can see...

Aaron & Nickell had a baby boy last night at 8:44 pm. That makes our 8th grandchild and 7th boy! We are truly blessed!! Don't have a picture to post yet. We plan on going there for Thanksgiving, I will get plenty of pictures then.

We woke this morning to cool breezes and pleasantly cloudy skies. Fall has finally arrived in Texas and I am loving it. In california we were always excited for fall. The only way we could tell it was fall is by the date. But here in Texas when fall hits you know it! The leaves turn, the weather is cool and you can just smell the pumpkin pie baking everywhere you go. I went out and picked some of my Zinnia's. I love Zinnia's they are so hardy, and the more you pick the flowers the more they flower. I love the fall colors of this mix. As I was arranging I was thinking of the fun times I had in Calif, running my wedding planning business and working with Heather and Melody. Sometimes Brandon would arrange a flower or two and Summer and Serena would pitch in. I LOVED going to the flower mart because of all the wonderful smells and different kinds of flowers. What fun! Oh well I will have to settle for arranging my own home grown flowers.

We babysat Rylan and Colton overnight while Amber had Lazer Eye Surgery. We had a fun time making cookies and decorating for christmas. It reminded me how much fun Christmas is with little ones around. Baths are a great way to entertain them. As you can see they loved playing with the bubbles.

Since we don't have kids here to help pick out a tree, we decided to get a fake tree. I encountered a problem putting it together...our kitty thinks it is for her to play in. She will climb all the way to the top. I havent even put the decorations on yet. She will probably go crazy from all the dangling bulbs! Oh course Warner has been training her to STAY OFF the tree. I think it was easier to train our babies than our cat!

I bought a huge spider for a Halloween decoration. We thought it might scare Autumn, but she tackeled it. Then Warner was scolding her for playing with my floral arrangement. She didnt like him to tell her NO, as you can see. At the end of the video you can hear a little hiss sound. That is her hissing at him before she ran off. She is trying to play with my fingers as I type this.

Early this morning Warner and I woke to a small "meow" coming through our open window. Warner grabbed a flash light and went a hunting. Sure enough, in the corner of our backyard we saw the cutest little face illuminated by our flash light. Well you know how Warner is when it comes to baby kittens, especially tiger kittens. We are now eye drop feeding it and keeping it in a little box in the family room. She/he seems to be about 6-8 weeks old. Of course my nuturing instinct kicked in. He/she is getting to know me and likes for me to pick her up. I am about to get her to snuggle with me while I read. We will see how tonight goes. I may be in for a few night feedings.

The song used for this video has a funny story. Summer was searching for a song that she and Warner could dance to at the Wedding. She wanted to find the song that her dad would always sing to her. He only would sing the chorus part because he never could remember the other parts. So when she finially found the song we all had a good laugh. Needless to say, the song wasn't what she wanted to use for her Daddy/Daughter dance.

Two Firsts

I had my first day at college and I loved it! I was very nervous and considered withdrawing but I said to myself "don't be a quitter." I think I will love my major of Sign Language Interpeter (2 year degree).

The other first is that today after dropping Serena off at the airport, for her return to BYU, I came home to a empty house, well Warner was around, but NO children! It will take a little getting used to! But I have my best friend to make me happy and he wll fill the gap of loneliness.

We celebrated a beautiful wedding last friday. Summer and Darrell knelt at the altar and took vows to honor one another. Summer was beautiful and glowing, Darrell looked very happy and handsome. All of Summer's older sister's and brother's were there to witness this solemn event. It was wonderful to have all 7 children together for the first time in nearly 5 years!

Finally Pool Time

Our pool is finally swimable. I really wanted to have it done by the time Summer left. Almost 1 year from the day we broke ground we filled it with water. When I look back at the beginning I can't believe we did it! We are now preparing to put the cement deck down. It was great to see Colton and Rylan playing in it.

My father was a unique man! He passed away on April 6th. His funeral service was one of the most spiritual experiences I have experienced. He led a very accomplished and full life. Here is a little bio on him:
He grew up in Phoenix. He was a member of the ROTC. This military unit received serveral "citiations" and was considered on of the best. He graduated as First Lieutenant. He was a manager of the ROTC military band and a member of the Phoenix High School Symphony Orchestra and trombone soloist. At 18 he joined the army. He qualified as Chemical Warfare Soldier, mastering many obstacle courses and real live target ranges. He volunnteered as a "guinea pig" he entered a special gas chamber for 2 hours, experimenting with the new colorless-odorless gas, he was burned on the hands and back and sent to the hospital. He left for England with a group of 100 Special Chemical Warfare Soldiers. He became a "Telephone girl", out in the woods and fields of France, directing important messages. He slept on the ground in the woods for 7 weeks. His unit was one of the first to land on Omaha Beach "D Day", He was very sensitive to the memories of that day. Later he was assigned as a trombonist in a 13 piece swing band and flew to serveral camps to keep the moral up. Later while recovering from serious injury in France he was assigned to be the hospital Radio Technician. He named his show the "Rest and Request Hour", he has ALWAYS loved music. He penned a poem while in the hospital titled
"To Dust":
This is but a simple field,
So long ---
So Hot
And wide.
Where shamelessly I shed the tears,
I do not try to hid,
This bit of ground is hallowed now
Some friends of mine are there;
They sleep the sleep they earned so well
They will wake without a care,
My friends they were and will remain
And Yours they should be too;
For men like these are worth so much
Who give their lives for you,
So earnestly,
I beg of you,
Retain this single thought,
"Men like these should never be forgot."
Willard returned home and married his sweet heart, Marian. They had 4 daughters. Willard was a Movie Assistant Director, Home Builder, Musician, Architect, Disc Jockey, Big Band Member, Excellent harmonicist, organgist, banjo player, orator, entrepenuer, church leader, Lyricist, Writer screenplays. But most importantly he was a Man of God and a firm believer in the Church of Jesus Christ, of Latter-day-saints. He now resides with his Mother, Father, Sister and many other noble ancesters. I will miss him greatly. He was my hero-father!!!!

Brayden Maverick Connelly

Our 7th grandchild, Brayden Maverick Connelly was born on March 18, 2009. He was born on my father's birthday (3.18.24) My father was in ICU at the time barely hanging on to his life, so this was thrilling news to my mother. I briefly talked to my father to give him the news and he was very happy. Mom said he continued to mention it throughout the day!

October is my favorite time to go to the Zoo. Maybe it's because that is when I would volunteer to go with the kids school class. Recently Amber, myself and the boys went on a beautiful cool, sunny day. All the animals were active. It was fun to be there with Colton and Rylan, they love to watch the animals and I love to watch them. Colton had an upsetting encounter with the birds. We rode the little train 3 times. He has arrived! Our first "Blair" grandchild! On May 12th Austin Kade Blair was born. Aaron and Nickell are so happy. He looks alot like his father, but I can see his mother's contribution to his cuteness. It is exciting to see our son have his own son. Now Aaron knows the joys Warner and I experienced when we had him.
